If there'd be no butterflies

I love butterflies, they are so beautiful.  I love to watch its chaotic fluttering as it hovers around the bright flowers.

It is so relaxing to just observe and be still.  Culturally, butterflies are a popular motif in the visual and literary arts.  They inspire artists everywhere to paint its beautiful colors.

Did you know that if a butterfly smells pollution, it will move away and look for a really clean and fresh area to live?  That is why butterflies are hard to find in Big Cities.  The decrease of wild butterflies is caused by pollution, too many buildings, few parks.

Here is a nice little Poem by Emily Dickinson

The Butterfly Upon the Sky

The Butterfly upon the sky,
that doesn't know its Name
and hasn't any tax to pay
and hasn't any Home
Is just as high as you and I,
and higher, I believe,
So soar away and never Sigh.
and that's the way to grieve....

I too have been inspired by the Butterfly!   Here are some of my artwork with Butterflies:

"If nothing ever changed,
there'd be no butterflies"

Here is another painting with butterflies

I started off  by making random pattern of flowers

I painted in 2 big Butterflies then decided to darken the background so the butterflies would stand out.  I then used oil pastels to highlight and give it depth
